Recipients of the 9th Annual Compliance and Ethics Awards announced by the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics



MINNEAPOLIS, May 22, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Four compliance and ethics champions will be honored by the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE) during the 9th Annual Compliance and Ethics Awards ceremony on October 7, 2013 in Washington, DC, the SCCE announced today. This annual event takes place during the annual Compliance & Ethics Institute; it honors individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the compliance and ethics profession.

"The growth of the compliance and ethics profession is due not simply to changes in the law, but to the hard work of people who have proven the positive impact that compliance and ethics programs can have. These award recipients have helped demonstrate the value of compliance and ethics at a time in which all eyes are on business, and mistrust is at too high a level," said SCCE Chief Executive Officer Roy Snell.

This year's honorees include the following three individuals and one organization:

Dan Roach, Vice President, Compliance and Audit, Dignity Health, California, U.S.

Dan Roach is the founding co-chair of the SCCE, past president, and current board member of the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA).  Along with Mr. Roach's countless and tireless contributions to the SCCE and HCCA, is his strong leadership in fostering compliance and ethics. With his direction, a compensation program was created at Dignity Health that includes compliance measures. In addition, Mr. Roach is among the few compliance officers who serve as a corporate board member, thereby promoting and exemplifying the value of compliance to boards.

Sally March, Director, Drummond March & Co., London, U.K.

Ms. March is being honored for her selfless dedication to helping the SCCE grow internationally. She played an active role in making the initial European Compliance and Ethics Institute a success, has also helped to shape the international track of the Compliance & Ethics Institute, and helped in the development of the Compliance Certification Board's international certification, Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional-International (CCEP-I).
